WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE MY TOOTHBRUSH?

Toothbrush is used to help clean the teeth, gums, and tongue. We brush our teeth at least twice per day. It is important to have a clean and optimum condition toothbrush so that we can clean our teeth effectively. The recommended duration to change your toothbrush is every three months.

How do you know when to change your toothbrush?

  • Change of bristles

If the bristles of your toothbrush is already worn out, bend or crooked,  it’s the time to get a new toothbrush

  • Debris on Toothbrush

If there is debris or dirt at the base of the bristles that cannot be removed, your toothbrush is dirty and must be replaced.

  • Toothbrush contamination

Toothbrushes should be stored appropriately and individually. It’s better not to let toothbrushes touch each other as it can lead to bacteria swapping. If you have touched toothbrush with another, it’s time for a replacement.

Also, do not store toothbrush in a drawer or container after use, the damp environment can lead to bacteria growth, leading to health issues.

  • Make sure get a new toothbrush every 3 months

Usual lifespan for a toothbrush is about 3 months. Therefore, replace it regularly to achieve optimal oral health.
