Your natural smile complements your features and it includes the harmony of your face, gums and teeth. When you’re unhappy with your smile, it’s hard to feel confident. There are several ways to improve your smile and to keep the teeth looking as natural as possible.

1. COMPOSITE VENEERS

Dental composite resin is used in composite veneers. It is a paste that is applied to the tooth and sculpted like putty. Once the desired shape has been achieved, it is hardened with a special light and polished. This can change the colour, shape and very minor misalignments of teeth.

Composite veneers are quick (treatment is over in one sitting), less expensive than porcelain or other options and less invasive (don’t harm or damage the underlying teeth).

However, it stains more compared to other options.

2. COMPONEERS

Componeers are made of composite fibres, which comes in prefabricated (ready) forms with various sizes. Teeth will be prepared to fit in these componeers.

They are easy to clean, repair, and replace. They don’t require excessive preparation of the tooth and is more economical compared to porcelain veneers.

However, they are not as strong, don’t last as long and stains slightly more than porcelain veneers.

3. PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are used to correct minor misalignments, or spaces, and to correct any teeth discolouration. Usually made of porcelain, veneers are custom-fitted and placed over your front teeth.

Veneers are long lasting, stronger and most stain resistant compared to other treatments.

However, it is irreversible and is more invasive (requires more teeth cutting), also the most expensive version.

4. GINGIVECTOMY / GUM SURGERY

This is usually done for people with gummy smile and short teeth. Gingivectomy cuts away part of the gums in the mouth at the upper front teeth.

5. WHITENING

The process of tooth whitening lightens the colour of a tooth. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the active ingredient most commonly used in whitening. There are 2 types of whitening treatments: in-office treatment done by dentist and the home whitening kit.

  The response from time of my asking for an appointment (though last minute) was handled well. Staff was ensuring that if I couldn't make the 5pm appointed time then she offered to reschedule.  So I did for the next day. Dr Edwin was super nice and gave options to see that my swollen due to infection gum was treated with care. I only visit this clinic because of its professionalism.
